Earthcare Connections currently has two curricula with valuable information about the physical attributes of the earth and the relationship between humans and the elements of the earth. Both resources are available upon request, or you can consult Earthcare Connections about activities, projects and programs you wish to initiate.
| Earthcare for Children, a First
Day School Curriculum
This is a publication by Sandra Moon Farley, Diana Gail Egly
and Thomas Baxter Farley in connection with the Friends Committee on Unity
with Nature. This guide to the environment contains thirteen chapters
of discussions, colouring, crafts, poems, songs and more. Aimed at younger
children, it teaches them about soil, water, air, seasons, food and diversity.
Published by the Quakers, this curriculum includes some scripture, prayers
and references to God and creation.
| Earth Awareness Program
This curriculum accompanies the Earthcare Balloon. The regional
co-ordinators of the Earthcare Balloon can tailor the presentation to
meet your needs. This curriculum contains additional ideas for classroom
activities and activities to work on prior to the arrival of the Earthcare
Balloon. The curriculum provides lessons and activities for students in
kindergarten through grade twelve. The approach in this curriculum is
more geographical and social studies based.
| Earthcare Balloon Preparation
To help with your preparation for the Earthcare Balloon, we have
included the activities to work on to get students to look forward to
the coming of the balloon and learn about the earth. Answer keys to the
questions can be obtained by contacting
us.
