People always say that it's the little things that matter most. This is true when caring for the environment. Performing the smallest actions will help the environment in a beneficial way, although it may be hard to realize the impact. Starting immediately encourages healthy habits that are economically and environmentally friendly. Healthy habits should be learned by children so they can carry this awareness forward into their future lives.

The following are just a number of actions that can be taken in certain places. These and other helpful tips can be found at Environment Canada’s website in Down to Earth Choices: Tips for making where you live one of Canada’s Healthy Neighbourhoods (this is a document that requires Adobe Acrobat Reader), and through a set of eleven Saskatchewan Environment brochures entitled Helping the Environment (found under the category "Environmental Protection" and called Responsible Living).
