| Our Wish to You
May you walk gently upon the earth,
nurtured by Love,
and taking only what you need.
Give back to the earth in gratitude,
sharing what you have,
and honoring all with reverence.
Heal and be healed,
always mindful of those who will come after.
Be a part of, not apart from,
all creation.

Prayer
God, life of earth, of community,
we gather as those who care deeply and
passionately for this place we call Saskatchewan.
As Earth Day approaches, may our thoughts
and hearts be particularly open to the earth
and the truth that we are of the earth.
The earth's well-being is our well-being.
Open our ears to hear the sounds
of a healthy ecosystem.
Open our eyes to see the reality
of human existence upon the world.
Give us wisdom that we might begin to
comprehend the value of your Creation.
Let our actions speak Reverence For The Earth.
Teach your children
What we have taught our children--
that the earth is our mother.
Whatever befalls the earth
befalls the sons and daughters of the earth.
If men spit upon the ground,
they spit upon themselves.
This we know.
The earth does not belong to us,
we belong to the earth.
This we know.
All things are connected
like the blood which unites one family.
All things are connected.
Whatever befalls the earth
befalls the sons and daughters of the earth.
We did not weave the web of life,
We are merely a strand in it.
Whatever we do to the web,
we do to ourselves. . . .
-- CHIEF SEATTLE
Great Spirit,
give us hearts to understand,
never to take
from creation's beauty more than we give,
never destroy wantonly for the furtherance of
greed,
never to deny to give our hands for the building of
earth's beauty,
never to take from her what we cannot use.
Give us hearts to understand that to destroy earth's
music is to create confusion,
that to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty,
that to calalously pollute her fragrance is to make a
house of stench,
that as we care for her she will care for us. Amen.
