Leafcutter Bees

We have a leafcutter bee operation on fields near Marysburg. We have approximately 2 million bees on 100 acres of alfalfa. The bees serve two purposes:

• Bees contribute to pollinating alfalfa allowing us to harvest alfalfa for seed or for the organic sprouting market.
• Bee numbers will approximately double, allowing us either to have a larger acreage of bees or to sell the excess bees.
